Ok guys, it's time I have to sell my REALLY good stuff! I'm not an old organ expert, so keep that in mind. I will tell you everything I know about this amazing RARE piece of musical gear. This is a GIBSON G-101 organ. It's beyond rare and it works! I just tested it out. I assume all parts are original, but just don't know for sure. I can let you hear this when you pick it up. Serial #: 4791. See pics for Tolex tear and scratches on black metal on front. Also has some black plastic tape on cover or front of organ. There are NO volume, bass, repeat sound or expression pedals and features with this organ! It also needs work on it's self contained folding legs stand it comes with.
They need the proper screws to fix that so I wouldn't stand it up unless you have that repaired.
I bought this in about 2002, and seriously have only played it maybe 5 times. Didn't use it to record like I wanted to. Bought it used and working. I don't know it's pedigree but it's been used for sure by others years ago.. It's has an incredible sound. Same organ type that Ray Manzarek of The Doors used, which is why I wanted it. I knew Ray and wanted him to come over and try it, but sigh, it never happened... I read recently only maybe 1700 of these were made and sold as G-101's in the old days, and really, how many can still exist? If you have a DOORS cover band, you need this baby... The Tolex covering is in decent but used condition with some tears. Again, one or a few of the switches or settings don't work because you have to have the volume & expression and glide switches or pedals to use those features. Otherwise, to my mind it's in great shape and ready to rock! Reverb setting doesn't work either, but that's how they all came. Has to go through your amp's reverb. I think Lowrey made this organ. The keys look to be in nice shape. See scans for details. I think I've seen these go for even bigger bucks in this condition, so grab it now, whoever wants this treasure...
