    1897 Bazzi - Bianchi Bowles Phonendoscope with patent dates of Oct.2, 1894 & Jan. 19, 1897.  G.P. Pillimg & Son, Philadelphia -  sole agents for U.S.A. 2 1/4" in diameter. A phonendoscope is a stephoscope equipped with a diaphragm for intensifying ausculatory sounds. A nice piece of medical history and would make a great gift for a doctor friend or medical student.
